What happened

The episode as NWS ALY wrote it up.

Multiple rounds of wintry precipitation impacted southern Vermont on the 6th and 7th. The first was a round of light to moderate snow after midnight on 6th to around sunrise, which resulted in around one to four inches of snow. Then, periods of freezing rain occurred from the afternoon of the 6th into the morning of the 7th, mainly over the higher terrain. Reports of up to a half an inch of ice accretion were received. The freezing rain quickly turned to a brief period of snow during the afternoon of the 7th as a strong low pressure system passed south of the area. Up to six additional inches of snow occurred with this round. The weight of the heavy snow and ice on trees along with elevated winds resulted in scattered power outages. The snow-covered roads resulted in a traffic delay on Route 9 in Woodford during the evening of the 7th when tractor trailers were unable to make it up the hill.
