A cold front straddled across NY and VT during the February 6-7th time frame. A weak system, moved across the North country during the early morning hours of February 6th with snowfall of 1 to 3 inches along the International border to 2 to 4 inches across the southern Adirondacks.

Deaths and injuries are direct and indirect together, as the offices filed them. Damage is property and crops in the dollars of the year, not adjusted for inflation, and only where an office estimated it.

A cold front straddled across NY and VT during the February 6-7th time frame. A weak system, moved across the North country during the early morning hours of February 6th with snowfall of 1 to 3 inches along the International border to 2 to 4 inches across the southern Adirondacks. During the day and evening hours of February 6th, intermittent snow and freezing rain showers still allowed for some slick travel ahead of the more vigorous system.
During the late evening and overnight hours of the 6th-7th, steadier snowfall arrived across the St. Lawrence River Valley eventually moving into the rest of northern NY early on the 7th. Precipitation in the southern Adirondacks and Champlain Valley was freezing rain and sleet early before changing to heavy snowfall by mid-morning with snowfall rates of 1 to 2+ inches per hour through early afternoon. Snowfall for Friday across northern NY was generally 8 to 18 inches.
Two-day snowfall across the area was generally 10 to 20 inches with icing under 1/4 inch across the southern Champlain Valley.
