Hail up to 3/4 inch was reported in downtown Omaha.
A strong low level jet, coupled with elevated instability and warm advection, helped fuel strong to severe thunderstorms across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa after midnight. A few of the storms became severe and produced hail up to and a bit larger than quarter size.
