Area forecast discussion, Jul 2, 2:50 AM CST, 1 hour 45 minutes before
AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION FOR SOUTHEAST SD/SOUTHWEST MN/NORTHWEST IA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SIOUX FALLS SD
350 AM CDT MON JUL 2 2001

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING DEVELOPED AS
EXPECTED IN RESPONSE TO INCREASING LOW LEVEL JET. WILL CARRY THESE
ACROSS THE EASTERN 2/3RDS OF THE CWA THIS MORNING...WITH SOME BREAKS
IN THE CLOUDS THIS AFTERNOON. MAIN CONCERN IS WHERE WARM FRONT WILL
SET UP...FOCUSING REDEVELOPMENT OF TSRA LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
OVERNIGHT. GENERALLY WENT WITH A BLEND OF THE ETA/AVN...WITH THE
WARM FRONT JUST SOUTH OF THE STATE LINE...THUS GIVING THE SOUTHERN
CWA/MORVR COUNTIES THE BEST CHANCE OF PRECIP AS MCS SLIDES EAST
ALONG THE BOUNDARY OVERNIGHT.

WEAK COOL FRONT FORECAST TO SLIDE SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE CWA TUESDAY
INTO TUESDAY EVENING...SO WILL KEEP A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER
EASTERN 2/3RDS OF CWA WITH THIS FEATURE...AND LINGERING INTO TUESDAY
NIGHT ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST CWA.
