The Coweta county 911 center reported that very heavy rain in one hour or less caused flooding of some streets and low lying areas on the northeast wide of Newnan, particularly near the intersection of Interstate 85 and Georgia Highway 34.
The Newnan Times/Herald reported that lightning struck four homes, three in the Newnan area and one in Turin. Only minor damage was reported.

The public reported that four trees were blown down at a private residence. Some of the guttering on the house was damaged as the trees fell.
A storm spotter reported dime size hail near the intersection of Georgia Highway 9 and Hembree Road.

The Gwinnett Daily Post newspaper reported that lightning struck and set on fire a custom cabinet shop on Carl-Bethlehem Road. The cabinet shop and its contents were completely destroyed.
The Central Georgia Electric Management Cooperative reported that six trees were blown down along Georgia Highway 212 six miles northwest of Monticello near Bethel.
The Gordon county 911 center reported that three trees were blown down. One of the downed trees was located one mile north of Calhoun and the other three miles southwest of Calhoun.
The Pickens county 911 center reported that some trees and power lines were blown down in Jasper.
The Milledgeville Union Recorder reported that a large tree fell on the deck of a home and a utility pole was broken at a hotel in town.
The Bartow county 911 center reported dime size hail.
The Cartersville Daily Tribune and the Bartow county 911 center both reported that several streets were flooded in the southern part of the county. There was also some minor flooding in low lying areas. Several streets in Cartersville were flooded, five of which had to be closed in the city.
The Rockdale Citizen reported that lightning struck a one-story, but rather large home, on Ebenezer Road. The resulting fire destroyed the bonus room and caused extensive damage to the remainder of the structure. The house was rendered unlivable. One firefighter suffered heat exhaustion and required medical treatment.
