Winter Storm in Minnesota, November 11 to 12, 2000
The storm system responsible for the narrow band of heavy snow across extreme western Minnesota, developed over the Kansas/Oklahoma border on the 11th, and headed northeast into south central, and then east central Minnesota by the 12th. It continued its northeastward trek into northern Wisconsin thereafter.

The storm system responsible for the narrow band of heavy snow across extreme western Minnesota, developed over the Kansas/Oklahoma border on the 11th, and headed northeast into south central, and then east central Minnesota by the 12th. It continued its northeastward trek into northern Wisconsin thereafter. Winds toward the end of the event were clocked between 15 and 25 mph, throwing additional snow into the air and plunging visibilities into the one half mile, to one mile range. Some snow totals of note: Yellow Medicine County- Canby 6.5 inches, Lac Qui Parle County-Madison 6.0 inches.
