A strong low pressure system over southeast Colorado caused high winds across parts of south central and southeast Colorado. Some notable wind gusts include: 84 mph at the Air Force Academy in El Paso county...70 mph 7 miles west of Westcliffe in Custer county...64 mph at Springfield in Baca county...and 60 mph around Trinidad and in the Pinon Canyon in Las Animas county.
