Intense low pressure crossing Nebraska induced widespread west to northwest winds of 40-60kts across central, south-central and southeast Kansas from mid-morning thru late afternoon resulting in damage to trees, roofs and power lines. The most significant structural damage occurred in northeast Wichita where a gust estimated at 70 mph (61kts) caused roof damage to one home. The most significant tree damage occurred at Cottonwood Falls in central Chase County where numerous pine trees were uprooted.
