High winds developed in and near the Front Range Range Foothills, just prior the the passage of an upper level storm system approaching from the Great Basin. Peak gusts from the windstorm included: 88 mph (76 kts) at the National Center of Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Mesa Lab, 82 mph (71 kts) at Boulder, 80 mph (70 kts) at Allenspark and the National Wind Technology Center (NWTC), 79 mph (69 kts) at the Rocky Flat Environmental Test Facility, 78 mph (68 kts) at Red Feather Lakes and 71 mph (62 kts) at Golden Gate Canyon. Several power lines were downed causing a few brief outages. In Loveland, the wind ripped some sheet metal roofing off a local car wash.
