High Wind in Alaska, October 30, 2000
A deep low moving into the northern Gulf of Alaska and cold, stable high pressure over the interior of the state resulted in very strong outflow (gap) winds through the bays and passes of the gulf coast from Icy Bay westward. Winds of 70 to 80 mph were estimated in Icy Bay.
