Welcome and needed rains of 2 to 3.5 inches fell over a prolong 2 day period around Thanksgiving. This was the heaviest precipitation event to date in 1999 for many of the communities. It was also the first event to begin the normal winter recharge of the depleted ground water from the summer drought.
