Strong, persistent northwest winds behind a cold front produced orographically enhanced snows to the higher elevations of Garrett County. Snowfall totals of 4 to 6 inches were found over the mountain ridges, with lesser amounts of 2 to 4 inches reported at lower elevations across the county. Some snowfall totals included 4 to 6 inches at the Wisp Ski Resort, 4 inches at Mountain Lake Park and 3 inches in Oakland.
