An intense low pressure center over the Canadian Maritimes continued to cause strong winds over the southwestern corner of the state. In Berwick, the strong winds blew down a 30 ft by 120 foot building that was under construction. Damage was estimated between $30,000 and $40,000. At Sanford, winds gusted to 36 mph, while in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, winds gusted to 46 mph.
