Flood Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota...

  Snake River At Mora affecting Kanabec County.

.While official observed river levels are not available due to 
bridge construction, upstream flows indicate the Snake River near 
Mora should be reaching flood stage early today. Minor flooding of 
the Snake River and nearby tributaries and creeks is expected to 
continue into the weekend.

For the Snake River...including Mora...Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive 
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood 
deaths occur in vehicles.

Key Messages:

- A quiet day is expected for Friday with lingering showers in
  southern MN weakening and moving out of the area by the mid to late
  morning.

- A few small chances for storms in the coming week, but generally
  quiet with a stretch of cooler weather after Sunday.

Today and Saturday:

The surface low and upper level trough which produced the forcing for
our severe weather today is expected to advect northwards into
central Canada over the next 30-36 hours, with sensible weather
dissipating as the last of the showers exit our coverage are by later
this morning. Dry weather continues through Saturday as the system
continues to lift northwards with zonal upper level flow over the
Upper Mississippi Valley becoming the norm. Temperatures for the
entire period will be warmest today and tomorrow with mid to upper
70s expected throughout the area as skies clear out today and remain
sunny for Saturday. Winds will be somewhat breezy but quite low
compared to much of our spring at 10-15mph with some occasional
20-25mph gusts, with a wind shift from west to northwest arriving on
Sunday as the cold front from the departing and northward moving
system finally swings across the area.

Sunday through Thursday:

A slight chance for some showers and thunderstorms will arrive on
Sunday afternoon as the cold front swings through, with no major
severe weather activity expected for now. Temperatures will take a
dive afterwards with highs throughout the rest of the week struggling
to get out of the mid 60s with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s. A
few more chances for thunderstorms will arrive Tuesday night with on
and off chances through Thursday as zonal flow couples with a few
shortwaves to provide some forcing, with the best chance arriving on
Thursday as a strong LLJ and h850 WAA provide a better storm
environment compared to the other days of the week. Synoptic scale
models beyond the period continue to point towards below normal
temperatures overall, however at this point in May we are talking
about 50s for lows and 60s for highs which is still a welcome change
from what we experienced in April.

VFR cigs will be present through the entire period with winds
gradually shifting from 240-270 closer to 200 by the afternoon today,
with cigs eventually dissipating completely leaving us with FEW to
SKC. Western TAF sites will see gusts to 20-25kts during the
afternoon, with lower gust potential for sites east of and including
MSP.
