This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont
North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Please listen to NOAA Weather Radio or go to weather.gov on the
Internet for more information about the following hazards.

   Tornado Watch.

Numerous to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected across
the area through the afternoon. Damaging straight-line winds and hail
area also possible in addition to the tornado threat. The severe
weather threat will diminish by evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be needed. Please relay any information about
observed severe weather to the NWS while following all local, state,
and CDC guidelines.

Mecklenburg, southwestern Union, Chester and southeastern York
Counties through 215 PM EDT...

At 129 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles south of York to 9 miles southwest of
Chester. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Rock Hill, Chester, South Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, Fort Mill,
Pineville, Tega Cay, Newport, Waxhaw and Lesslie.

Cabarrus, southeastern Iredell, northwestern Mecklenburg and
southwestern Rowan Counties through 245 PM EDT...

At 213 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6
miles west of Huntersville, or 6 miles southwest of Ramsey Creek
Park, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Huntersville, Kannapolis, Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson, China
Grove, Landis, Enochville, Coddle Creek Reservoir and Paw Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Conditions are favorable for development of a very brief, weak
tornado. Be prepared to take immediate action if a tornado is sighted
or a Tornado Warning is issued.

If on or near Lake Norman, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for the Piedmont
of North Carolina.
