The Chattahoochee River near Vinings Paces Ferry Road.
* Until Saturday afternoon.
* At 12 PM Friday the stage was 16.8 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring, and moderate flooding is forecast to
develop.
* Flood stage is 14 feet.
* The river will continue rising, reaching near 18.3 feet by this
evening. The river is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday
morning.
* At 16 feet, minor flooding continues to expand into the woodlands
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on Paces Ferry
Road. Most of an athletic field at Lovett School, the backyards of
homes on Cochise Drive, Paces Ferry Drive, Paces Manor and Farmington
Drive, and walking paths by a restaurant will be under 3 feet of water.
At 18 feet, moderate flooding begins with significant flooding in the
woodlands along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on
Paces Ferry Road. An athletic field at Lovett School and backyards of
homes on Cochise Drive, Paces Ferry Drive, Paces Manor and Farmington
Drive, as well as walking paths by a restaurant will be under 5 feet of
water. The flood waters will begin to reach the foundations of some
homes in lower lying areas.

The Flint River near Lovejoy.
* From this evening until Saturday evening.
* At 1215 PM Friday the stage was 10.1 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast to develop.
* Flood stage is 12 feet.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by this evening and
continue rising, reaching near 13 feet after midnight early Saturday
morning. The river is expected to fall below flood stage by Saturday
evening.
* At 10 feet, bankfull conditions occur with high water spreading out into
the flood plain.
At 12 feet, minor flooding occurs. Flooding of Rivers Edge Golf Course
begins and several holes and fairways will flood. Flooding of some yards
begins upstream of gage between Upper Riverdale Road and Highway 138.
Between 13 and 14 feet, minor flooding expands. Some flooding may begin
in yards upstream of the gage between Upper Riverdale Road and Georgia
Highway 138. Some roads may also begin to flood such as Upper Riverdale
Road and Mockingbird Road. Flooding expands on portions of the Rivers
Edge Golf Course. Several holes and fairways will flood.

* Until late tonight.
* At 2 PM Friday the stage was 9.8 feet and nearly steady.
* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is forecast to
continue.
* Flood stage is 9 feet.
* The river will continue begin to fall this afternoon, dropping below
flood stage tonight.
* At 10 feet, minor flooding continues. The water is one foot deep in
the Ace Sand Company office and begins to flood a warehouse. Flooding
expands into the parkings lots of Don White Memorial Park on Riverside
Road and the Azalea Park on Azalea Drive west of Roswell Road. Water
also begins to flood the tennis courts at the Huntcliff Club across
from Azalea Park and is one foot deep over the road leading to the
horse stables. The storm drains will stop functioning at Riverside
Road and Northcliff Trace.

* Between 28 and 30 feet, minor flooding continues along the river
upstream and downstream from the gage on the 14th Street bridge.
Large portions of the River Walk in Columbus will be flooded 1 to 3
feet deep. The water level will be around the top of the boat ramp
behind the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. The Phenix City
Amphitheater in Alabama will be flooded 1 to 2 feet deep. Portions
of the River Walk in Phenix City will be flooded.

Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to

this location will have three to five feet of water underneath them.

Short term models are in pretty good agreement, slowly bringing surface front across the forecast area today, with the associated upper low tracking across portions of northern AL and GA this afternoon and tonight. Hi-RES models have had a hard time resolving the line of convection ahead of the front, and currently have the main line of showers and thunderstorms moving across western portions of the Atlanta Metropolitan areas down to near Columbus.
