* At 9 AM Friday the stage was 21 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue
to rise to near 26.6 feet by this evening.The river will fall below
flood stage by tomorrow morning.
* At 26 feet...Minor flooding continues in the woodlands and fields
along the river upstream and downstream from the gage on South Cobb
Drive. Flood waters one to two feet deep cover portions of the
railroad tracks in the industrial area on both sides of the river.
The water level approaches the foundations of a few commerical
buildings in the area.

river will fall below flood stage by tomorrow afternoon.
* At 13 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand into the
woodlands...fields and pasture along the river upstream and
downstream from the gage on Gees Mill Road in Rockdale County. Most
of Sockwell Road by the river in Newton County will be flooded with
up to 4 feet of water. Minor flooding also occurs in Newton County

to rise to near 21.9 feet by Monday early afternoon.The river will
fall below flood stage by Wednesday morning.
* At 21 feet...Minor flooding expands. An increasing amount of the
Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the Martin
Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to two
feet deep on portions of the trail and both banks overflow upstream
from the bridge. Large portions of agricultural lands east of Macon
and well downstream will be under 1 to 4 feet of water.

or Georgia Highway 9. Most of the sidewalk and boardwalk of the Big
Creek Greenway will be under a foot or two of water. The areas under
the Georgia 400 Highway and McFarland Road will be covered with
around three feet of water. A portion of the sidewalk under Majors
Road will be covered with around four feet of water.

Short term models are in pretty good agreement, slowly bringing surface front across the forecast area today, with the associated upper low tracking across portions of northern AL and GA this afternoon and tonight. Hi-RES models have had a hard time resolving the line of convection ahead of the front, and currently have the main line of showers and thunderstorms moving across western portions of the Atlanta Metropolitan areas down to near Columbus. We have a Tornado Watch in affect through 8am over portions of west- central Georgia. This line will move into portions of eastern and central Georgia through mid morning. As the cold air associated with the upper low moves across the area this afternoon, expect chance to likely showers and thunderstorms across the area this afternoon, with best chances in the vicinity of the upper low. The colder air associated with the surface front is not in northwest AL and expect our forecast area to see somewhat of a warm up through early afternoon before the colder air makes it into north and west GA. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s in the higher elevation of northeast GA overnight, but do not expect any wintry precip at this time. With the upper low over eastern portions of TN tomorrow could continue to see chances for showers mainly over north GA.
