rivers which will cause flooding in some areas.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property.

Mill Road in Rockdale County. Large portions of Sockwell Road by the river
in Newton County will be up to 3 feet under water.
Between 13 and 14 feet, minor flooding continues to expand into the
woodlands, fields and pastures along the river upstream and downstream
from the gage on Gees Mill Road in Rockdale County. Most of Sockwell Road
by the river in Newton County will be flooded with up to 4 feet of water.
Minor flooding also occurs in Newton County in the Riverside Estates Travel
and Trailer Park. Any trailers near the river may need to be moved to
higher ground. A playground by the river will begin to flood.

railroad tracks in the industrial area on both sides of the river

* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is forecast to
continue.

* At 8 feet, minor flooding continues in the natural flood plain of
the creek upstream and downstream from the gage at Atlanta Highway,
or Georgia Highway 9. Most of the sidewalk and boardwalk of the Big
Creek Greenway will be under a foot or two of water. The areas under
the Georgia 400 Highway and McFarland Road will be covered with
around three feet of water. A portion of the sidewalk under Majors
Road will be covered with around four feet of water.

* Minor flooding is occurring, and minor flooding is forecast to
continue.
* Flood stage is 7 feet.
* The river will continue rising, reaching near 9.5 feet Saturday
morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday.
* At 10 feet, minor flooding expands along the creek from near
Cumming to Alpharetta and Roswell. Backyards of homes off Seale
Drive and Gunter Court and portions of the Golf of Georgia are
under a foot of water. The Big Creek Greenway experiences
significant flooding up to 4 feet deep with closure of the paths.
This especially occurs upstream and downstream from the gage on
Kimball Bridge Road and Rock Mill Park. A large portion of the YMCA
Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under a two feet of
water.

* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Sunday morning
and continue rise, reaching near 23.2 feet by Monday evening.
* At 18 feet, flood stage is reached. Minor flooding begins along the
river upstream and downstream from the gage at U.S. Highway 80, or
Martin Luther King Boulevard. Portions of the Ocmulgee Riverwalk and
agricultural lands well downstream will be under a foot of water.
At 23 feet, minor flooding continues to expand. Large portions
of the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the
Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to
3 feet deep on portions of the trail. Large portions of agricultural
lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under 1 to 5 feet of water.

* Until Sunday morning.
* At 9 AM Saturday the stage was 24.5 feet...and rising slowly.
* Moderate flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 16 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 25.2 feet by this afternoon.
The river will fall below flood stage early Sunday.
* At 25 feet...Significant flooding continues to expand further
into the woodlands...fields and pasture upstream and downstream
from the gage at Georgia Highway 82. The water level reaches the
bottom of the bridge. A house just downstream will be flooded with
two feet of water. The water will reach the foundations of a few
homes on Bismarck Circle Road upstream from the gage and the rock
drive of a house near the bridge.

* Until late Sunday night.
* At 11 AM Saturday the stage was 10.3 feet and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring and will continue.
* Flood stage is 7 feet.
* The river is expected to fall below flood stage tomorrow evening.
* At 11 feet...Moderate flooding begins and occurs upstream and
downstream from the gage on Kimball Bridge Road near Rock Mill
Park. Backyards of homes off Seale Drive and Gunter Court and
portions of the Golf Club of Georgia are under two feet of water.
Backyards of homes off Jade Cove Circle and La View Circle near
Roswell begin to flood. The Big Creek Greenway will be flooded up
to 5 feet deep and will be closed. A large portion of the YMCA
Campground off Preston Ridge Road will be under 3 feet of water.

* At 23 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand. Large portions
of the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the
Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to
3 feet deep on portions of the trail. Large portions of
agricultural lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under
1 to 5 feet of water.

* At 21 feet, moderate flooding continues with significant flooding
in the woodlands, fields and pastures upstream and downstream from
the gage at Georgia Highway 82. A residential yard will be completely
flooded with the water reaching the foundation at a house just

The Flood Warning continues for
The Oconee River near Penfield.
* Until late Monday night.
* At 9 PM Saturday the stage was 15.2 feet and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring, however moderate flooding is forecast
to develop.
* Flood stage is 13 feet. Moderate Flood stage is 18 feet.
* The river will continue rising, reaching near 21.6 feet by Sunday
evening then begin falling, dropping below flood stage Monday evening.
* At 17 feet, minor flooding continues to expand into the fields,
woodlands and pastures near the river. The water level is very close
to Ward Road on the right bank and flood waters will be approaching
irrigation systems that may need to be moved to higher ground.
At 18 feet, moderate flooding begins. Ward Road floods and cuts off
access to L.C. Curtis and Son Sand and Gravel Company. Irrigation
systems also begin to flood and need to be moved to higher ground.

The Middle Oconee River near Arcade.
* Until this afternoon.
* At 445 AM Sunday the stage was 18.1 feet...and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by this
morning.
* At 18.0 feet...Minor flooding continues in the woodlands...fields
and pasture upstream and downstream from the gage at Georgia
Highway 82. A few dirt access roads and a residential yard just
downstream will be flooded with up to two feet of water.

Updated to add watch for E portions of the CWFA. && .PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 911 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2019/ UPDATE... Tornado Watch has expired. The potential for severe weather continues mainly across areas along and east of a line from Athens to Columbus. The primary hazards will be damaging wind gusts, localized flooding and lightning. A brief tornado will also be possible. Also, tweaked the hourly grid and pops according to current trends. PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 739 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2019/ PREV DISCUSSION... /Issued 425 AM EDT Fri Apr 19 2019/ SHORT TERM /Today through Saturday/... Short term models are in pretty good agreement, slowly bringing surface front across the forecast area today, with the associated upper low tracking across portions of northern AL and GA this afternoon and tonight. Hi-RES models have had a hard time resolving the line of convection ahead of the front, and currently have the main line of showers and thunderstorms moving across western portions of the Atlanta Metropolitan areas down to near Columbus. We have a Tornado Watch in affect through 8am over portions of west- central Georgia. This line will move into portions of eastern and central Georgia through mid morning. As the cold air associated with the upper low moves across the area this afternoon, expect chance to likely showers and thunderstorms across the area this afternoon, with best chances in the vicinity of the upper low. The colder air associated with the surface front is not in northwest AL and expect our forecast area to see somewhat of a warm up through early afternoon before the colder air makes it into north and west GA. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s in the higher elevation of northeast GA overnight, but do not expect any wintry precip at this time. With the upper low over eastern portions of TN tomorrow could continue to see chances for showers mainly over north GA. Temperatures on Saturday will be 10-15 degrees cooler than afternoon high today. Have stayed close to guidance temperatures through the period. Atwell LONG TERM /Saturday Night through Thursday/... Long term starts out cooler and dry with only small precip chances over the NE mountains Saturday night quickly coming to an end with a dry Easter Sunday in store. At 1132 AM EDT...a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line
extending from near Banks Crossing to State Botanical Garden Of Ga to
near Madison...and moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind...frequent cloud to ground lightning
and heavy rain.
IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light...unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.
Some locations in the path of these storms include
Madison, Greensboro, Watkinsville, Danielsville, Lexington, Athens,
Nicholson, Union Point, Comer, Winterville, Crawford, Colbert,
Bostwick, Arnoldsville, Ila, Woodville, Carlton, Bishop, Maxeys and

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
