* At 4 PM Friday the stage was 23.5 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding will continue.
* Flood stage is 22 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 26.4 feet by tomorrow
evening. The river will fall below flood stage Tuesday morning.
* At 27 feet...Minor flooding continues in the woodlands and
pasture upstream and downstream from the gage located around one
half mile upstream from the Georgia Highway 22 and 24 bridge. The
parking lot and the Oconee River Greenway Park just downstream from
the bridge will be completely flooded with water several feet deep.
Sinclair Dam will have three to four gates open to reach this
height.

Balls Ferry Road leading to the boat ramp becomes flooded with a
foot of water or more. The entire dirt parking lot near the boat
ramp is under three to five feet of water. Extensive flooding of
the woodlands near the river continues.

Tuesday morning.
* At 23 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand. Large portions
of the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail floods north of the
Martin Luther King Boulevard bridge. The flood waters will be up to
3 feet deep on portions of the trail. Large portions of
agricultural lands east of Macon and well downstream will be under
1 to 5 feet of water.

woodlands and pasture upstream and downstream from the gage near
the Georgia Highway 22 and 24 bridge. Fishing Creek backs up and a
few buildings along the creek will be flooded. Also Tanyard Branch
Stream between East Thomas and East Charleston Streets in
Milledgeville will flood. Sinclair Dam will likely have four to
five gates open to reach this height.

the Georgia Highway 100 bridge will be under two feet of water.

* The river will continue rising to near 8.2 feet by this evening.
The river will fall below flood stage Sunday morning.
* At 8.0 feet...Minor flooding continues to expand further into the
woodlands and fields along the creek from near Cumming in south
Forsyth County to Alpharetta and Roswell in north Fulton County.
Additional portions of The Big Creek Greenway have minor flooding
with 1 to 2 feet of water. Most of the walking and biking paths
will be closed...especially upstream and downstream from the gage
on Kimball Bridge Road and near Rock Mill Park. Portions of the
YMCA Campground off Preston Ridge Road will flood.

deep. The water level reaches the top of the boat ramp behind the
Columbus Convention and Trade Center. The Phenix City Amphitheater
in Alabama will be flooded up to two feet deep. Portions of the
River Walk in Phenix City will begin to flood.

Made some adjustments to a quicker eastward progression of pops as once again the dry slot has advected quicker than previous model guidance around the south and east of the upper cutoff low. While instability is limited in the south, there's enough of a helicity rich environment to have some embedded bowing segments and possible weak rotation along the main convective line tracking with the associated sfc occluded front. Enough progression with areas of precip to where the threat for flash flooding is no longer widespread enough to warrant the watch so went ahead to cancel, though isolated flooding and some river/creek flooding is still possible. Should just be some lingering chances of isolated to scattered light showers mainly in the north this afternoon on the backside of the aforementioned main precip with the upper low wraparound and some continued mostly cloudy conditions. Current radar loop shows frontal boundary sweeping across AL and about to push into western GA over the next few hours. The long term begins with a ridge of high pressure building over the central U.S. This will bring dry and more stable air into the CWA for a few days. leading edge of this line of storms has also exhibited
areas of localized rotation. A brief tornado could
quickly form.
