  heavy rain moving into the warned area. Up to three inches of rain 
  has already fallen from previous heavy rain with an additional 
  round of thunderstorms and heavy rain moving into these same 
  locations. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

At 633 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced 
several rounds of heavy rain during the past 24 hours.  The latest 
round brought an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain with some 
locations having a storm total of 4 to 6 inches of rain.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

* Until 230 PM CDT Sunday

* At 807 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
  heavy rain continuing across the warned area.  Several waves of 
  thunderstorms have produced between 3 and 6 inches of rain across 
  central Benton county since yesterday.  Additional heavy rain will 
  likely runoff as flooding.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
  susceptible to the dangers of flash flooding.

This warning includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route V at Deer Creek near Hastain...
Route DD at Knobby Creek 6 miles northeast of Edwards...
Route WW at Archer Creek northeast of Lakeview Heights...
Route B at Williams Creek southeast of Cole Camp...
and Route F at Cole Camp Creek southwest of Cole Camp.

Additional rainfall amounts of around an inch is possible in
the warned area.

.SHORT TERM...(This evening through Sunday)
Issued at 227 PM CDT Sat May 19 2018

Strong to severe convection continues in the eastern CWA
primarily along and north of a surface warm front and ahead of a
subtle H5 wave currently moving through the area. Meanwhile...boundary
interactions with the surface front is setting off another round
of convection over north central Oklahoma.

As the larger upper level wave moves out of eastern Colorado
toward the Upper Mississippi Valley...low pressure will develop
and move along the front. This will induce more convection along
the front that will move up and into the area during the overnight
hours. Primary threat with these storms will be wind and
hail...but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out especially over
extreme southeast Kansas. This convection will continue into
early Sunday.

.LONG TERM...(Sunday Night through Saturday)

The quasi-stationary surface front meanders back and forth across
central Missouri through most of the week. This will keep slight
chance to chance PoPs in the forecast. In the upper levels..a
trough is situated over the southwestern US with a ridge over the
Central States. As small short waves move out of the southwest
trough and up and over the ridge...rain chances over the area
will increase.

Not too much variability in day-to-day temperatures with highs
generally in the low to mid 80s and lows in the low to mid
60s...or about 5-10 degrees above normal.

Issued at 1154 PM CDT Sat May 19 2018

Will monitor showers and thunderstorms that develop in Kansas and
Oklahoma tonight. They will attempt to move in from the west
overnight. Currently have VCTS at the sites. Outside of
thunderstorms, VFR conditions are expected. Winds will remain out
of the southeast. Additional showers and storms are possible
during the day Sunday however coverage is uncertain at this
juncture.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

  Limited hail risk.
  Limited thunderstorm wind damage risk.
  Limited flooding risk.
  Elevated lightning risk.

DISCUSSION...

 A line of strong storms will move across the eastern Ozarks this
 evening. Additional scattered storms may develop from
 southeastern Kansas into southwestern Missouri overnight. A few
 of these storms could be strong to locally severe with winds up
 to 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters. Localized minor
 flooding could develop where storms train over the same areas.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

  Additional thunderstorm are possible on Sunday. A few storms
  may become severe especially across central Missouri.

Additional thunderstorm chances will occur next week.
