...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT FOR
NORTHEASTERN TELLER AND WEST CENTRAL EL PASO COUNTIES...

At 413 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing 
moderate to locally heavy rain showers moving across the warned 
area. Due to saturated conditions from heavy rains yesterday, flash 
flooding is possible.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar may result in flash flooding 
and debris flow moving through the drainages of the Waldo Canyon 
burn scar adjacent to Highway 24.  The debris flow can consist of 
rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Western Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Green
Mountain Falls, Divide, Crystola, Chipita Park and Cascade.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. The heavy rains
will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep
terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
