Eastern Fremont County in central Colorado... Northeastern Custer County in southeastern Colorado... Northwestern Pueblo County in southeastern Colorado... * Until 915 PM MDT. * At 812 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the Canon City area. Up to two inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring. Rainfall has decreased across the area but flooding is expected to continue until the water has a chance to recede. * Some locations that will experience flooding include... Florence, Royal Gorge, Canon City, Penrose and Wetmore. Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
