  The Saline River Near Wakeeney 5N affecting Ellis and Trego 
  Counties.

. The Saline River is at 18.5 feet and is falling.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks...

Do not drive through flowing water or go around barricades. Nearly 
half of all flood fatalities are vehicle related. Turn around don't 
drown.

Continue to monitor noaa all hazards radio or commercial broadcasts 
for further information.

The Flood Warning continues for 
 The Saline River Near Wakeeney 5N.* At 10:01 AM Tuesday the stage was 18.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by 
  tonight.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Prepare for near-record flooding of 6 feet 
  or more along the Saline River lowlands in northern Trego and Ellis
  Counties as the river moves well out of its channel onto the 
  floodplain. Flooding will be comparable to that last seen on june 
  17, 1957, when the Saline River near Wakeeney crested at 19.4 feet.
* * Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.0 
  feet on July 2 1962.
