THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WICHITA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  COWLEY COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT

* AT 652 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE 
THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN NORTHERN COWLEY 
COUNTY. DOPPLER RADAR HAD ESTIMATED BETWEEN ONE AND TWO INCHES OF 
RAIN HAD OCCURRED ACROSS THAT AREA DURING THE PAST HOUR OR SO. MORE 
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING OVER THIS AREA DURING THE NEXT COUPLE 
OF HOURS AND PRODUCE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN TWO AND 
THREE INCHES. 

THIS ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL ONLY AGGREVATE THE SITUATION AND 
PRODUCE SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOODING. 

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING...OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
