THE MIDLAND-ODESSA NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BORDEN COUNTY IN TEXAS
  DAWSON COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 1100 AM CDT

* AT 636 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR DETECTED             
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER SPARENBERG...AND WEST GAIL 
  ALONG HIGHWAY 180. MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED BY THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING INCLUDE...   
  MIDWAY...GAIL...MESQUITE...SPARENBERG...TENMILE...KEY...ARVANA...
  HANCOCK...GRANDVIEW AND LAMESA

FLOOD AND FLASH FLOODING PROBLEMS ARE EXPECTED ALONG TOBACCO AND 
GOLD CREEKS WHICH RUN EASTWARD THROUGH THE EAST AND NORTHEAST PORTION 
OF DAWSON COUNTY AND WESTERN BORDEN COUNTY. FOUR TO SIX INCHES OF 
RAIN HAS FALLEN ALONG THE HEADWATERS OF THESE CREEKS. 

REPORTS FROM LAMESA INDICATE THAT SIGNIFICANT STREET FLOODING IS 
OCCURRING. THERE IS ALSO SOME FLOODING OCCURRING ALONG THE SULPHUR 
SPRINGS DRAW THAT RUNS THROUGH TOWN...AND THE MAGNITUDE OF FLOODING 
WILL PROBABLY INCREASE THIS MORNING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS 
IMMINENT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW 
SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO 
HIGHER GROUND.
