FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  630 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...HAYS COUNTY...TRAVIS COUNTY
 
AT 428 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER HAYS AND TRAVIS
COUNTIES...PRODUCING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN.  SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SLOWLY NORTH AND NORTHEAST AT
5 TO 10 MPH.
 
THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL PRODUCE PERIODS OF
HEAVY RAIN OVER HAYS AND TRAVIS COUNTIES FOR THE NEXT
FEW HOURS...INCLUDING THE AUSTIN AND SAN MARCOS AREAS.
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS AND SOME HAIL IS ALSO POSSIBLE
WITH THESE STORMS.
 
MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS LOW WATER CROSSINGS
THAT BECOME FLOODED FROM HEAVY RAINS.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
 
FLOOD PRONE URBAN AREAS FILL WITH WATER QUICKLY.  CLOGGED STORM
DRAINS MAY CAUSE OTHER AREAS TO FLOOD.  DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH
FLOOD WATERS AND STAY AWAY FROM STORM DRAINS.
