THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  500 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...GILLESPIE COUNTY...KERR COUNTY
 
AT 139 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM NORTHWEST KERR COUNTY TO NEAR
HARPER IN WEST GILLESPIE COUNTY AND TO 20 MILES NORTH OF
FREDRICKSBURG.  HEAVY RAIN WAS INDICATED IN THESE SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS BY RADAR.  IN ADDITION...THE PUBLIC HAS
REPORTED THAT HEAVY RAINS ARE BEGINNING TO DEVELOP IN
WESTERN GILLESPIE COUNTY.
 
IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS...THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
DELELOP TO THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST OVER KERR AND GILLESPIE
COUNTIES...CAUSING PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT IS
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS AND OTHER
PEOPLE IN RECREATION AREAS ALONG CREEKS...STREAMS...AND RIVERS IN
THE WARNING AREA SHOULD MOVE TO HIGH GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
 
FLOOD PRONE URBAJN AREAS FILL WITH WATER QUICKLY.  CLOGGED STORM
DRAINS MAY CAUSE OTHER AREAS TO FLOOD.  DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH
