THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN/SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...BURNET COUNTY
 
AT 920 AM THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO PRODUCE HEAVY RAINS MAINLY OVER
NORTHERN BURNET COUNTY. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE DRIFTING VERY SLOWLY
TO THE NORTH AND EAST.  OTHER SHOWERS AND THUNERSTORMS WERE
DEVELOPING OVER SOUTHERN LLANO COUNTY AND WERE MOVING INTO BURNET
COUNTY.  RADAR IS ESTIMATING RAINFALL RATES OF 2 INCHES PER HOUR
WITH THE HEAVY STORMS OVER NORTHERN SECTIONS OF THE COUNTY.
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RAINS.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND IF YOU CAN DO SO SAFELY.
