000 TTAA00 KABQ 050626 RRA SVRABQ NMC005-050730- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALBUQUERQUE NM 1228 AM MDT THU JUN 5 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBUQUERQUE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 130 AM MDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO ...CHAVES COUNTY AT 1222 AM MDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING ALONG THE WESTERN CHAVES COUNTY LINE NORTHEAST TO MESA. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST TO NORTHEAST 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH... DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION...MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING... PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A ST:RONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.
