000 TTAA00 KCLE 081553 SVRCLE OHC055-081630- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CLEVELAND OH 1154 AM EDT THU AUG 8 1996 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN OHIO ...GEAUGA COUNTY AT 1153 AM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST SOUTH OF THE CITY OF BURTON IN GEAUGA COUNTY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. THIS STORM WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY LARGE HAIL...GUSTY SURFACE WINDS...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND DOWNPOURS HEAVY ENOUGH TO CAUSE FLOODING. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM.
