THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...OSAGE COUNTY
 
AT 1120 PM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM LOCATED
ABOUT 25 MILES WEST OF OTTAWA...OR JUST NORTHWEST OF LYNDON.
 
THIS STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT 40 MPH...AND WILL MOVE OVER THE
TOWNS OF LYNDON...VASSAR...AND QUENEMO...AS WELL AS POMONA LAKE.
 
IN ADDITION TO THE THREAT OF LARGE HAIL AND STRONG WINDS...THIS STORM
WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE VERY HEAVY RAINS RESULTING IN FLOODED STREAMS
AND LOW LANDS.
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE TO A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DON'T USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS I|N AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM
HAS PASSED.  MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
