THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING       EFFECTIVE UNTIL  145 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL KANSAS
 
   ...SOUTHERN DOUGLAS COUNTY...NORTHERN OSAGE COUNTY
   ...SOUTHERN SHAWNEE COUNTY
 
RAINFALL OF ONE TO THREE INCHES WITH INTENSE TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAS
PRODUCED FLASH FLOODING. SOME ROADWAYS WERE UNDER TWO TO THREE FEET OF
WATER IN THE WARNED AREA.
 
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS WATER OVER ROADWAYS. THE ROADBED MAY BE WASHED
AWAY AND YOUR CAR SWEPT AWAY BUT THE CURRENT.
 
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  STREAMS,
RIVERS, AND CREEKS CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAIN. CAMPERS
SHOULD AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING
