000 TTAA00 KRST 162307 SVRRST MNC045-055-162345- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ROCHESTER MN 606 PM CDT SAT MAY 16 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ROCHESTER MN HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA ...SOUTHEASTERN FILLMORE COUNTY...HOUSTON COUNTY THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE TOWNS OF HARMONY...HOUSTON...AND CALEDONIA. AT 6PM CDT RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN EXTREME SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA FROM ALONG THE MINNESOTA/IOWA BORDER SOUTH OF PRESTON TO NEAR LA CROSSE WISCONSIN. THE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE HAD A HISTORY OF PRODUCING DAMAGING WIND...HAIL...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN ...AS WELL AS DEADLY LIGHTNING. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 TO 35 MPH AND WILL BE HEADING TOWARD THE TOWNS OF HARMONY... HOUSTON...AND CALEDONIA. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF SOUTHEAST AND SOUTH CENTRAL MINNESOTA UNTIL 10 PM CDT. A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING. REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING..MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY. REMEMBER SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOS WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING.
