THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A URBAN AND SMALL 
STREAM FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 100 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN 
THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES

   IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
      ROWAN...DAVIDSON

REPORTS FROM THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENTS IN DAVIDSON AND ROWAN COUNTIES
INDICATED THAT SEVERAL ROADS WERE WASHED OUT AND MANY ROADS WERE
COVERED WITH WATER. ABBOTT CREEK AND HIGH ROCK LAKE IN SOUTHERN
DAVIDSON COUNTY WAS OUT OF ITS BANKS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY.
VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED IMMEDIATELY.
REMEMBER..MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.

 PEOPLE IN DAVIDSON AND ROWAN SHOULD BE ALERT TO RISING WATER AND MOVE
 IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND.
