THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A URBAN AND SMALL 
STREAM FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1145 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN 
THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
      ALLEGHANY

AT 835 PM WEATHER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW MODERATE RAIN FALLING
OVER ALLEGHANY COUNTY OF THE NORTHERN MOUNTAINS. THE SHERIFF
DEPARTMENT IN SPARTA REPORTED THAT FLOODING WAS STILL OCCURRING
ALONG THE SOUTH FORK RIVER AND STATE ROUTE 1308 WAS STILL CLOSED.
ROCK CREEK NORTHEAST OF SPARTA WAS OVER A BRIDGE AND STATE ROUTE
1345 CROSSING IT IS NOW CLOSED.

NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
ESCAPE RISING WATER BY MOVING TO HIGHER GROUND.

 BE CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARD TO SEE FLOODED ROADWAYS. DO
 NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING.

 IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES..GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY
 AND TAKE SHELTER.  ASK YOU LOCAL SHERIFF OR POLICE TO RELAY YOUR
 SEVERE WEATHER REPORT TO THE LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE.
