THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A URBAN AND SMALL 
STREAM FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN 
THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES

   IN THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
      ALLEGHANY...WILKES

A CHECK WITH THE SHERIFF DEPARTMENTS IN WILKES AND ALLEGHANY
COUNTIES INDICATED THAT SOME BRIDGES WERE STILL UNDER WATER
AND SECTIONS OF HIGHWAYS STILL CLOSED. ALTHOUGH THE RAIN HAS
EITHER ENDED OR TAPERED OFF...THE FLOODING WILL BE SLOW TO RECEDE.

 PEOPLE IN WILKES AND ALEXANDER SHOULD REMAIN ALERT AND MOVE TO
 HIGHER GROUND IF FLOOD WATERS RISE.

 IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES..GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY
 AND TAKE SHELTER.  ASK YOU LOCAL SHERIFF OR POLICE TO RELAY YOUR
 SEVERE WEATHER REPORT TO THE LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE.
