- High Wind in New Mexico, May 1, 1999High winds were blamed in a fatal travel trailer-church bus accident in southwest Chaves County that claimed 7 lives.
- Blizzard and Heavy Snow in New Mexico, December 18 to 20, 2011A strong upper level storm system moved across southern New Mexico, and initially brought heavy snow to western and central New Mexico. Then, a very strong cold front plowed across the northeast and east central plains bringing winds up to 60 mph and more heavy snow.
- Flash Flood in New Mexico, July 14, 1996A woman and three children drowned when the car they were riding was swept off the pavement into Walnut Creek. The normally dry creek was running 4 feet deep over a dip in the road following heavy rain of 2 to 4 inches on the watershed 12 to 18 miles to the west.
- Winter Storm and Extreme Cold in New Mexico, February 1 to 4, 2022A strong winter storm system deepened over the Rockies before tracking southward into New Mexico on February 1, 2022 and continuing into February 2nd. Accompanying this system was a backdoor cold front that brought in very cold arctic air into northern and central New Mexico.

- Flash Flooding in New Mexico, July 21, 2022While thunderstorm coverage was not as widespread compared to the previous day, July 21, 2022, was still a very active monsoon day for northern New Mexico in part due to the training of thunderstorms along the Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar.

- Strong Wind in New Mexico, May 24, 2015The wet May pattern continued as yet another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms developed over central New Mexico. This activity produced gusty and erratic outflow winds along with heavy rain and small hail across the Albuquerque Metro Area during the afternoon hours.

- Tornadoes and Hail in New Mexico, March 23, 2007An unusually early and intense outbreak of severe storms with large hail and tornadoes occurred across east central and southeast New Mexico during the afternoon and evening of the 23rd.
- Wildfire and High Wind in New Mexico, April 11 to 30, 2022As a storm system tracked to the north of New Mexico on April 11-12, 2022, it steered a potent polar jet over the state.
- Blizzard and Winter Storm in New Mexico, November 6 to 8, 2024An upper low dove south into the Four Corners area during the day November 6th with much colder air diving south into northern and central NM during the day. Snow developed across northwest and north central NM during the day.
- Winter Weather in New Mexico, January 15 to 16, 2018An arctic airmass moved southwest through northeastern New Mexico early in the morning on Martin Luther King Jr Day then surged through gaps in the central mountain chain by late in the afternoon.
- Blizzard and Heavy Snow in New Mexico, December 6 to 8, 2009A potent storm system brought heavy snow and high winds across the state. Snowfall started on December 6th across the San Juan Mountains.
- Winter Storm and Heavy Snow in New Mexico, December 15 to 17, 2016A powerful jet stream approaching from the eastern Pacific carved out a potent storm system over New Mexico the week before Christmas. This was the most impactful winter storm since the blizzard from December 2015 and the first significant storm of the 2016-2017 season.
- Lightning Strike in New Mexico, August 8, 1996Two employees of Lea County Co-op Electric were killed by lightning while attempting to repair lines that had been disabled during a previous storm.
- Winter Storm in New Mexico, January 5 to 6, 1997A winter storm produced widespread heavy snow and icy roads across much of New Mexico. Icy roads were the direct cause of numerous auto mishaps as many drivers failed to reduce speed in the early hours of the storm as road conditions deteriorated very quickly.
- Cold in New Mexico, January 27, 1997One man was found in Gallup covered in frost and lying in a sleeping position. Another man, found near Shiprock, died of hypothermia or exposure. Overnight low temperature from both Gallup and Farmington was near 32 degrees.
- Winter Storm in New Mexico, January 27 to 28, 2001A slow-moving winter storm howled into northern and central New Mexico with gusty winds, heavy snow which closed state highways and many rural roads and contributed to two deaths from exposure. Tribal police found one body just north of Gallup and another near Bluewater.
- Flash Flood in New Mexico, August 24, 2006A man and his young son drowned when their vehicle was swept down stream trying to cross a flooded arroyo near Church Rock.
- Heavy Snow and High Wind in New Mexico, December 25 to 26, 2008The third upper level trough of the Christmas week brought high winds and moderate snows to northern and central New Mexico. Snow amounts ranged from just a few inches at low elevations to one to two feet in the ski areas.
- Heavy Snow in New Mexico, December 15 to 16, 2008A deep low pressure area centered over California continued to pump moisture into Mew Mexico on the 15th and 16th. A strong short wave trough ejected out of the low and helped bring widespread, heavy snow to much of the area near and north of Interstate 40.
