- Wildfire in Florida, January 29, 2012A 62 acre wildfire developed in Paines Prairie which is bisected by Interstate 75 south of Gainesville. The Prairie is also close to Highway 441, which runs south of Gainesville as well.
- Wildfire in Florida, July 1 to 10, 1998The excessive heat and lack of rain that existed over east central Florida for much of June and July resulted in wild fires beginning in June and spreading over huge areas of Volusia and Brevard counties in late June and early July.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 1 to 31, 2008A series of muck fires burned along the dry lakebed of southwestern Lake Okeechobee near the Glades and Hendry county shoreline for almost the entire month of May.

This, combined with many days of breezy to gusty wind conditions, resulted in a number of wildfires that continued through the end of the month.
- Wildfire in Florida, April 3, 2020A small wildfire started near the Southwest Florida International Airport, and spread to a grassy rental car overflow lot. The fire destroyed 3516 vehicles before being extinguished.
- Tornado and Wildfire in Florida, May 29, 2025A mid-level shortwave trough developed an MCS that lifted east- northeastward through the day and across SE GA during peak heating. Continued SW flow increased moisture levels to above average with PWATs mainly in the 1.75-2 inch range.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 11 to 14, 2008A stationary front across Alabama and Georgia combined with high pressure over the Florida Keys to produce hot and breezy west winds across East Central Florida. On May 11th winds gusted from 30 to 40 mph and high temperatures were in the 90s.
- Wildfire in Florida, June 2, 2024A brush fire in Broward County impacted a small wooded area near Pompano Beach. The wildfire began and was contained on June 2nd. A majority of Southern Florida was in a severe drought in early June.
- Wildfire in Florida, December 28, 2010A man was killed while attempting to put out a wildfire in the Woodhaven subdivision in Orlando.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 8 to 31, 2007Lightning strikes on Saturday night, May 5th, ignited two 11 acre and 21 acre fires on Bugaboo Island in the southern Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge (southwest of Stephen Foster State Park).
- Wildfire in Florida, April 15, 1999Extended dry conditions and strong winds helped fuel a wildfire near Port St. Lucie. Forty eight houses were destroyed as 2,400 acres were scorched.

A large area of high pressure settled over Florida in the late Spring, keeping the traditional thunderstorms from forming. Lightning sparked most of the brush fires in hard to reach dry woods.
- Wildfire in Florida, March 21 to 22, 2026A 500 acre wildfire in northwestern Calhoun county caused significant damage to property. There were a total of 43 displaced occupants, 15 dwellings destroyed, 7 outbuildings destroyed, along with 7 vehicles, 2 boats and 1 utility trailer destroyed.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 1 to 31, 2026Extreme to exceptional drought, dry fuels, and breezy days triggered numerous wildfires in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida in April that continued through the month of May.
- Wildfire in Florida, April 21 to 22, 2017Dry conditions and breezy winds allowed several wildfires to start across west-central and southwest Florida. Two of these fires damaged homes, vehicles, and sheds.
- Wildfire in Florida, March 14 to 15, 1999A wildfire, most likely set by an arsonist and fanned by 30 mph southerly winds, burned 5000 acres near Golden Gate Estates, east of Naples. Three firefighters were injured.
- Wildfire in Florida, February 15 to 18, 2017Dry conditions and breezy winds allowed a wildfire to spread through southeastern Polk County, destroying numerous homes and outbuildings.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 29 to 31, 2008A small wildfire started during the afternoon of the 29th in Golden Gate Estates, quickly spreading and causing evacuations and engulfing homes and vehicles.
- Wildfire in Florida, May 9, 2021A 89 acre wildfire destroyed three homes and two vehicles in Port Saint Lucie.
- Wildfire in Florida, June 24 to 26, 2018A wildfire developed in the Eastpoint area during the late afternoon of June 24th. It quickly spread from the woods to nearby homes as strong northerly outflow from a thunderstorm to the north moved through the area with wind gusts of 25-30 mph.
- Wildfire in Florida, February 23, 2000Brush fires destroyed five homes, damaged a dozen others and seered 600 acres in Lehigh Acres. The fires ignited near Inez and Joan Avenues and spread to Sunshine Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.
- Wildfire in Florida, March 5 to 13, 2017The Lee Williams Road wildfire started in the afternoon hours of March 5th near Lee Williams Road. Gusty winds and dry conditions led to rapid fire spread causing multiple mandatory and voluntary evacuations.
- Wildfire in Florida, March 27 to 28, 2018An extended period of dry weather led to a wildfire near Fort Myers that grew to 20 acres before being put out. The fire damaged homes and cars and also killed 2 pets.
- Wildfire in Florida, April 17 to 28, 1999200-acre wildfire destroyed one home and damaged two others as well as a boat and a number of docks in the Driftwood Estates area.
