- Tornado and Hail in New Mexico, May 23, 2023Afternoon thunderstorms developed along a sharpening dryline across eastern NM. Storms strengthened as they tracked eastward toward the Texas border, producing large hail and even a landspout tornado.
- Flash Flood and Hail in Texas, May 23, 2023Another consecutive evening of severe storms occurred on the Caprock on the evening of the 23rd as the atmosphere again became very unstable. Several of the thunderstorms were able to gain significant mid-level rotation which allowed them to generate very large hail.
- Flash Flooding and Hail in Idaho, May 23, 2023Widespread severe weather with strong winds, large hail, and very heavy rains occurred on the 23rd in the Snake River Plain.
- Flash Flooding and Hail in Texas, May 23, 2023The active weather pattern continues with an afternoon dryline and colliding outflow boundaries aiding in the development of numerous thunderstorms across the eastern Permian Basin. Large hail. damaging winds and flash flooding were observed with a few of these thunderstorms.
- Flooding in Colorado, May 23 to 24, 2023Accelerated snowmelt from a near-record snowpack due to above normal temperatures and precipitation produced high and fast flow on drainages in several west-central counties. As a result, flooding compromised various low-lying roads in the counties.
- Tornado and Hail in Texas, May 23, 2023The combination of strong instability and locally enhanced upper level winds produced isolated severe thunderstorms during the evening hours across the Big Country and Concho Valley.
- Flash Flood in Missouri, May 24, 2023A small cluster of storms developed over portions of central Missouri. Some of the storms dumped between 4 and 5 inches of rain causing flash flooding.
- Flood in Wyoming, May 24 to 31, 2023Near record snowpack began melting out during the month of May and brought widespread minor flooding to the Bear River in Lincoln County. This second flood wave continued into the month of June.
- Tornado and Hail in Colorado, May 24, 2023A severe thunderstorm produced hail up to quarter size near Parker. Brief heavy rainfall was also observed, with nearly one inch in less than one hour. Lightning struck a home near 38th and Everett in Wheat Ridge.

- Tornado in Wyoming, May 24, 2023Thunderstorms developing along converging boundaries late in the afternoon on the 24th resulted in a landspout tornado forming over the Cheyenne Airport. No damages or injuries were reported.
- Flash Flood and Damaging Winds in Texas, May 24 to 25, 2023During the evening of May 24th, widespread showers and thunderstorms developed over eastern New Mexico into the western combined Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. A few of these storms became severe producing wind gusts upwards of 64 mph.
- Flood and Hail in Texas, May 24 to 25, 2023Very intense thunderstorms developed in northeast New Mexico on the afternoon of the 24th and moved southeastward through the evening and overnight hours.
- Flash Flood and Damaging Winds in Texas, May 25, 2023A long-track complex of thunderstorms developed off of the higher terrain of eastern New Mexico and moved southeast. This complex produced severe wind gusts across the northern Permian Basin early that morning.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Kansas, May 25 to 30, 2023In the late morning of the 25th, a line of storms from eastern Kansas restrengthened as they slowly moved northwest. These storms dumped upwards of 6 inches of rain near Hoxie and caused flooding in various locations in northwest Kansas.
- Tornado in Florida, May 25, 2023With the influence of a mid-level trough to the north, South Florida was provided with a source of lift, which combined with surface instability from diurnal heating to develop scattered showers and thunderstorms on the afternoon of May 25th.
- Flash Flooding and Flooding in Nebraska, May 25 to 28, 2023In the afternoon of the 25th, slow moving, high precipitation thunderstorms formed in eastern Colorado and moved northeast. In the evening, severe hail was reported along with heavy rain.
