A peak wind gust of 69 mph was recorded on the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) mesonet station 5 miles west of Seneca (Potter county), with a 68 mph gust recorded on the SDDOT mesonet station in Waubay (Day county).

Storms produced strong winds across portions of central, north central and northeast South Dakota during the afternoon of June 15th. A peak wind gust of 69 mph was recorded on the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) mesonet station 5 miles west of Seneca (Potter county), with a 68 mph gust recorded on the SDDOT mesonet station in Waubay (Day county). Rapidly decaying showers also generated strong winds in Lyman and Buffalo counties, with a 66 mph gust recorded on the SDDOT station 5 miles north of Reliance and a 64 mph gust on the SDDOT station 3 miles north of Gann Valley.
