Issued at 802 PM CDT Sat Mar 15 2025 Updated to end the Flood Watch and adjust PoPs. Guidance is in pretty uniform agreement that a round of showers will move across the Midsouth late tonight into early Sunday. Showers are already developing in southwest Arkansas and north Louisiana. Isolated thunderstorms are possible after midnight, but look less likely as the night progresses. Sunday will be cooler with a few showers before midday. Expect highs in the 50s. Dry conditions are expected tomorrow afternoon into early next week. && .DISCUSSION... (This evening through next Friday) Issued at 110 PM CDT Sat Mar 15 2025 A line of severe storms continues to move across Northeast Mississippi at this time. Severe storms should move east into Alabama by 5-6 PM CDT this evening. Lingering showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will continue into the evening and overnight hours as the broad upper trough continues to swing through the region. High pressure will settle into the Mid-South on Sunday. Temperatures will be chilly with highs only in the 50s and will be a shock to the system after the last couple of days of highs in the 70s and 80s. The cooler temperatures will short-lived as the high will shift east on Monday which will allow winds to turn around to the south. This will allow temperatures to climb into the 60s for highs. By Tuesday, temperatures will be even warmer as warm air advection kicks in. Rain chances will return on Wednesday as a quick moving cold front moves through the Mid-South. Expect a few showers to develop along and ahead of the front. High pressure will then rebuild into the area Thursday and Friday. KRM && .AVIATION... One convective cluster near DRP was persistently showing lightning over the past hour, but should pass north of MEM.
