High winds followed behind a cold front that moved through during the daytime hours Jan 17th. A peak wind gust of 62 mph was recorded at the Department of Transportation weather station near Summit. The Department of Transportation also reported multiple semi-trucks that were blown off Interstate 29. The peak wind gusts at the Sisseton ASOS nearby was 58 mph. Numerous additional weather stations gusted in the 50 to 55 mph range behind the front.
