Strong winds developed across portions of eastern Colorado during the day. Wind gusts ranging from 54 mph to 65 mph were recorded across Cheyenne county. The strong winds also led to some dust storm conditions near the town of Kit Carson.

This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT...

Snowfall accumulations of a trace to two inches are forecast tonight,
mainly west of Highway 25. The highest amounts will be over Kit
Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado where a Winter Weather
Advisory is in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY...

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Kit Carson and
Cheyenne counties in Colorado through 2 PM MST Saturday afternoon.
Additional snowfall accumulations under an inch are forecast.

A prolonged period of very cold air will impact the area Saturday
through Monday night. Daytime wind chill readings are forecast to be
in the single digits to lower teens above zero Saturday and Sunday
with single digits above and below zero Monday. Overnight wind chill
readings are forecast to drop into the 5 below to 15 below zero
range Saturday night with 10 to 20 below zero readings Sunday night
and 15 below to 25 below zero Monday night.

A mesonet site named UP695 near Aroya, Colorado recorded a 65 mph wind gust. An additional wind gust of 59 mph was also recorded 2 E Arapahoe at a mesonet site named UP694.

COOP observer in the town of Kit Carson reported visibilities in blowing dust down to around 250 yards in town. He did mention that the visibilities improved by the time of the report. No information is known about the start time of the dust but based on surrounding observations winds began gusting above 58 mph around 10:43 local time.
