The drought relief in early October proved to be short lived as an abnormally dry fall persisted across Middle Tennessee. Drought conditions only worsened in November 2024. By the end of the month, about 45 percent of the area was in at least severe drought with about 8 percent of this area in extreme to exceptional drought status. November also saw the return of exceptional drought conditions for the first time since early January 2024 with portions of Giles County experiencing the worst drought conditions.
