A shortwave moved across Wyoming. As it encountered more humid air east of the Bighorn Range, severe thunderstorms developed in Johnson and Natrona Counties. There were numerous reports of hail from nickel to golf ball size hail, including on Interstate 25 which slowed traffic for a time. In portions of Fremont and Sweetwater Counties, strong winds mixed to the surface and brought local high wind.

High wind occurred from Rock Springs to the Sweetwater County airport. The maximum wind gust recorded was 71 mph at the airport.
A trained spotter reported nickel to golf ball size hail covering Highway 259 south of Midwest to a depth of 2 inches.
A 58 mph wind gust occurred at the Riverton airport.
The public reported golf ball size hail in the southern end of the Bighorn Mountain Range.
Hail the size of nickels to golf balls fell from north of Natrona to the south of Midwest, including along Interstate 25.
