.SYNOPSIS...
Issued at 215 PM MDT Tue Oct 31 2023

High pressure will dominate the region through the weekend with very
dry air, mostly sunny skies, and light winds for much of the region.
A few afternoon breezes will focus along the central mountain chain
and eastern plains. Temperatures will trend warmer each day then
eventually end up above normal by the weekend. Morning lows will
still be cold each day.

&&

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Wednesday night)
Issued at 215 PM MDT Tue Oct 31 2023

Dry northwest flow aloft continues tonight and Wednesday. One fine
evening is in store this Halloween with hardly any wind to speak of.
Another cold night is in store with dewpoint temperatures falling
into the lower teens and single digits this afternoon. In fact,
several locations will likely get colder than last night's readings
given the drier air. A developing lee side surface low near Pueblo,
CO will result in slightly stronger southwest breezes Wednesday
afternoon east of the central mountain chain. High temperatures will
trend 3 to 10 degrees warmer Wednesday with most warming in the RGV
and southwest.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Thursday through Monday)
Issued at 215 PM MDT Tue Oct 31 2023

Tranquil weather conditions will persist over the region through the
weekend. Light west to northwest flow aloft will build into a weak
upper level ridge toward late in the week. Temperatures will trend
warmer each afternoon, especially across eastern NM where a weak lee
side trough takes shape. Winds will be very light areawide except
eastern NM where just a few breezes are expected. Overnight lows
will remain cold with strong inversions each night. Haze will most
likely build over the region thru late week with weak mixing.

&&

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1138 PM MDT Tue Oct 31 2023

VFR conditions are expected for the next 24 hours. A surface
trough in the lee of the southern Rockies will cause southwest
winds to become breezy across east central areas Wednesday
afternoon.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 215 PM MDT Tue Oct 31 2023

Tranquil weather continues through this week and into the weekend.
With the storm track well north of NM during the next week to 10
days, the latter half of this week will feature a warming trend,
light winds, and a dry to very dry airmass. Terrain driven winds
will dominate with slightly stronger than seasonal average inversion
strength. Additionally, ventilation rates will trend up Wednesday and
Thursday, trending back down for Friday. Vent rants are then
forecast to trend back up over the weekend.
