What happened

The episode as NWS GJT wrote it up.

A cold front pushed through western Colorado and produced a quick shot of moderate snow across the northern mountains as well as some central ranges. Additionally, gusty winds occurred with winds exceeding 50 mph in the mountains at times, resulting in reduced visibilities. Instability associated with the front led to stronger snow bands along portions of northwest Colorado. Wind gusts exceeded 40 mph with a snow squall that impacted portions of Rio Blanco County as visibilities dropped to less than one quarter mile.
