(This evening through Sunday) Issued at 243 PM CDT Fri Mar 24 2023 The morning short term models did not handle the evolution of this system over Arkansas very well. Cool outflow boundary made it much further south than anticipated, and the boundary has ended up essentially quashing the risk of significant severe weather on the north side. However, the southward progress of the boundary has halted, and it is now moving back to the north. How far will it get? The I-30 corridor is probably a good guess, perhaps a bit further to the north. Further to the east, the boundary has moved well south of the I-40 corridor and should start moving back northward soon. Exactly how far north it will get is still a big question mark to me. Areas to the south have had little convective contamination. Temperatures are in the 80's with dewpoints in the 60's, instability is continuing to increase...and the wind shear is notable. As the storms move futher east tonigiht, the risk for supercell development will increase substantially as the storms make their way into the southeast portions of the CWA. && .LONG TERM...
