In general, snowfall amounts were fairly light with a more localized area of 2 to 4 inches seen along the Pine Ridge in Dawes and Northern Sioux counties.

At the same time, an intense arctic cold front brought near-record low temperatures to the region. While wind chills eased some during the daytime hours, extreme night time wind chills as low as -35 degrees F were common for much of the period from February 21st through February 23rd.

CoCoRaHS and NOHRSC Interpolated Snowfall Analysis Data indicate that 2 to 4 inches of snow fell across primarily western and northern portions of Dawes County.
Snowfall accumulations of 4 to 6 inches were reported by multiple NWS COOP Observers across northern Sioux County.
Extreme wind chills ranging from -30 to -35 degrees F were observed at various stations across Dawes County. The coldest observation was -35 degrees F at the Kings Canyon RAWS near Chadron State Park around 12:00 AM MST on 2/22.
A Mesonet station located 6 SW of Angora recorded a minimum wind chill of -35 degrees F at 544 AM MST on 2/22.
The Alliance Airport ASOS (KAIA) recorded a minimum wind chill of -36 degrees F at 4:00 AM MST on 2/22.
A minimum wind chill of -37 degrees F was observed at a UPR sensor 3 WNW of Brownson at 5:52 AM MST on 2/22.
A minimum wind chill of -33 degrees F was observed 11 S of Agate around 3:00 AM MST on 2/22.
A minimum wind chill of -32 degrees F was observed at the Kimball Airport (KIBM) at 3:35 AM MST on 2/22.
The sensor at Highway 71 along the SD/NE line recorded a minimum wind chill around -35 degrees F which persisted for several hours.
A minimum wind chill of -31 degrees F was observed 1 SSW of Scottsbluff at 3:19 AM MST on 2/23.
The AWOS station K1BW located 14 miles west of Harrisburg recorded a minimum wind chill of -30 degrees F at 11:58 PM MST on 2/23.
