Low pressure slowly moved from the southern Great Plains into lower MI producing freezing rain and sleet over southern WI. Most of the ice accumulation was under 1/4 inch with sleet accumulation of 1/2 inch or less. Thunderstorms occurred at times and produced mostly sleet. Many vehicle slide-offs and accidents occurred on roadways across southern WI. Widespread school closures occurred due to the icy roads. Icy sidewalks led to pedestrian falls and injuries throughout southern WI. Ascension Wisconsin reported 42 persons treated from ice related falls.
